Is the next Blaster Worm in the Winds

Microsoft has dropped an out of cycle patch on everyone, the patch covers a fault in RPC which is very similar to the fault in RPC/DCOM that was exploited by Blaster Worm. The consequences of not patching could potentially be the same, thousands of computer infected to do the bidding of those who would exploit it. Patch or die folks, patch or die.

Google Chrome Logo Unoriginal

So Google has released their own browser, it’s called Chrome. Now I’ll be having a look at this browser to see if I think it’s any good, otherwise I’ll be sticking with Firefox as my primary browser.

However, I thought I would point something out to everyone. Has everyone noticed how the Chrome logo looks something like a Pokéball. Dare I make the accusation that Google has a team of developers working on Chrome that are Pokémon fans, God help us all.

Folder Size for Windows

Every wanted to see the folder size in Windows Explorer, and yes I know you can look at the properties of a folder to get its size, but that is an extra step that I don’t want to do. I stumbled across this project on sourceforge, and what it does is adds a replacement column to Windows Explorer that can not only give you the size of your files but can also display the folders size in the same way.

Microsoft Bakes a Cake for Mozilla

Looks like Microsoft does have a sense of humour after all or at least a sense of community. The Internet Explorer Development Team at Microsoft has sent Mozilla a cake to mark the release of Mozilla Firefox 3. Al Billings, who was at one part a member of the Internet Explorer Development Team, is pictured on his blog holding the cake. Microsoft did this previously when Mozilla released Firefox 2.

Funniest part about this is Al posted a comment latter, see image below, saying “Yes, the Cake is a Lie.” and including a screen shot of writing on the wall from Portal.

Watch out the for the Weighted Companion Cube, it may be plotting to stab you.
